Tjan Zaochnaya
Tjan Zaochnaya is a Soviet dissident and human rights activist who advocates the rights of indigenous people suppressed by (Soviet) Russia since the 1980s. After she was expelled by the Soviet authorities, Tjan moved to Munich, and since then has been informing the public about the impact of resource extraction on the indigenous ways of life, as Germany and Europe were the main consumers of Russian oil, gas, and coal before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. She is a member of the Munich group of the Society for Threatened Peoples (GfbV) and the International Committee of Indigenous Peoples of Russia (ICPR).
