Score for Solidarity: Kyiv Biennial Assembly

Part of the public program of the exhibition Near East, Far West - Kyiv Biennial 2025

Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw
103 Marszałkowska St., Warsaw
Wednesday to Sunday 12:00–19:00

For the opening of Near East, Far West, the main exhibition of the Kyiv Biennial 2025 at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, the participating artists, curators and friends will assemble in the Museum auditorium. During times of ongoing wars, occupations, ethnic cleansing and genocide and the broader fascist turn in global politics we gather to ask the question: What does international solidarity as a political and cultural practice look and feel like today?

We invite contributors to relate, or respond to this question, through different registers, forms and media – a reading, an excerpt from a film, a sequence of images, a piece of writing, a conversation with an interlocutor – allowing those involved in the project as well as the public to move across the different practices and contexts that interlace the exhibition, creating what we hope will be a form of score for solidarity.

The Kyiv Biennial Assembly is convened by Nick Aikens, Vasyl Cherepanyn and Magda Lipska
