The public guided tour through Kyiv Biennial: A Bird That Cannot Land in German with German Sign Language (DGS) is an inclusive tour for people with and without hearing impairments.

The Kyiv Biennial is an international art project that moves between different cities. It brings together art with political and social topics. The exhibition at KW Institute for Contemporary Art shows works from the Kyiv Biennial’s traveling exhibition. It also shows new artworks created especially for Berlin.

The exhibition looks at ideas like memory, displacement (being forced to leave home), and belonging.
Many of the artists come from international backgrounds, including people who are part of Berlin’s diverse diaspora communities.

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, more than a million Ukrainians have moved to Germany. This has made Ukrainians one of the largest diaspora groups in the country.
